Bristol Dojo has some of the very best facilities and instructors in the South West and our K-1 Kickboxing class is no exception. Kickboxing refers to a group of martial arts and stand-up combat sports based on very powerful kicking and punching, historically developed from Muay Thai, Karate, Taekwondo and Western Boxing. K-1 Kickboxing is excellent for general fitness and as a full contact ring & cage sport.
K-1 kickboxing is a fast-paced modern style of kickboxing formed from the promotion K-1 global.
Our K-1 syllabus also forms part of our MMA program and is used alongside Boxing as our Stand Up skill base.
K-1 has a established itself as the most exciting form of kickboxing as it’s been designed to produce a fast and exciting match to watch. Typically fought over 3 rounds of 3 minutes it has a reputation of producing very fast and very exciting action.
This class is suitable for all abilities as you will partner with someone at the same level as yourself. In this class expect lots of fitness and conditioning training, lots of high impact striking development using pad work and kickbag drills as well as live sparring in our kickboxing ring or on our 2000 sqft matted area. There are no kick counts as found in main steam kickboxing and low kicks and one handed clinches are allowed along with striking with the knee.
